Etha’s Founder Staffan Asplund Appointed as Environmental Counsellor

The recognition highlights decades of work advancing sustainable energy development in Finland, as well as the lasting role Staffan Asplund has played in shaping Etha’s mission and development.

Etha’s founder and Chairman of the Board, Staffan Asplund, has been awarded the honorary title of Environmental Counsellor (Ympäristöneuvos) by the President of the Republic of Finland.

The title of Environmental Counsellor is one of Finland’s honorary titles granted in recognition of distinguished contributions to environmental protection, sustainable development, and the advancement of environmental values in society. The title is awarded to individuals whose work has had a significant and lasting impact within their field.

Staffan Asplund has been recognized for his long-standing contribution to the development of sustainable energy solutions and the promotion of the green transition in Finland. Over several decades, he has played an active role in advancing the development of sustainable energy and helping to shape the conditions for a more sustainable energy system.

As the founder, Chairman of the Board, and as the former Managing Director of Etha, Staffan has been instrumental in building a company dedicated to supporting the energy transition through project development and expert advisory services.
