In partnership with Solaris Group, we aim to reduce emissions and promote renewable energy, supporting local jobs and economic growth.
As Finland is expecting to tenfold the present solar power capacity within the near future, Solaris Group, with their strong growth capabilities, is going to be one of the enablers of that goal. Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) will play an important role, together with PV and wind, to reach the different targets set in Finland. Etha and Solaris Group are working on including BESS solutions in all PV permitting processes.
Ele Lepik, CEO of Solaris Group, was looking for a strong permitting and development consulting company and, after receiving several recommendations, she decided to contact Etha.
“We were looking for a cooperation partner with excellent reputation and track record, with whom to build a long-term relationship. We appreciate how well Etha has understood our business and particular needs, and has been responsive to our requests in building a service portfolio to suit our needs“ Lepik says.
The cooperation between Etha and Solaris Group started in the summer 2024, with discussions between Marko Ekman and Artturi Kurhela from Etha, and Ele Lepik from Solaris Group.
“It’s a pleasure to start a long-term cooperation with Solaris Group to develop solar power in Finland. Solaris Group has an experienced developer team with good networks and a hands-on approach” says Marko Ekman, Director of Development Services at Etha.
Tiina Rytkönen is Project Manager for Solaris Group PV projects.
“It’s great to be involved in making sustainable development a reality in municipalities. In addition to reducing emissions, the use of renewable energy sources also contributes to regional prosperity by creating new jobs and boosting the local economy. Solar and wind power are already a significant part of the total energy mix in many markets, contributing to a new energy market trend. Electricity storage will support the transition to carbon-neutral energy production by bringing flexibility and stability to the electricity grid in response to weather fluctuations” Rytkönen says.
The cooperation agreement was signed in September 2024 at Etha’s office in Helsinki.
